I had a chance to return again this year for, "The Joe Carter Classic" event celebrating it's 10th anniversary. The event is hosted by legendary sports Icon, Joe Carter and brings in celebrities, philanthropists & entrepreneurs whom come together to raise money for charity. To date, the Joe Carter Classic Golf Tournament has raised over $2.5 million, benefitingChildren’s Aid Foundation’s Joe Carter Family Support Fund and the Joe Carter Scholarship Endowment Fund, along with other local children's charities. I attended the fifth annual Heroes Gala – a fundraising event hosting Toronto's business and sports communities for a night of philanthropy and fun. Right To Play's Heroes Gala is recognized as one of Toronto's most anticipated fundraising events. Each year, this event raises $2 million in support of critical play-based learning programs. I attended the Healthy Start Healthy Future, Celebrity Golf Tournament in support with the Life with a Baby Program. The Life with a Baby Program is Canada’s largest peer‐to‐peer network with over 40,000 members. This program is geared toward providing a Healthy Start for parents and children from day one.

I had a chance to attend, "The Disaster Artist" red carpet produced by James Franco during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film chronicles the making of Tommy Wiseau's 2003 cult film The Room. The film stars James and Dave Franco as Wiseau and Sestero, alongside a supporting cast featuring Seth Rogen, Alison Brie, Ari Graynor, Josh Hutcherson and Jacki Weaver.

The Mountain Between Us
I attended the red carpet for one of the most anticipated movies during the Toronto International Film Festival, "Mother." The psychological thriller produced by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky tells a chilling tale of a couples life being disrupted by mysterious uninvited guests. Jennifer Lawrence who plays who plays the wife of Javier Bardem in the film shares to me how she got into character for her role.
I was on the red carpet for, "The Mountain Between Us," red carpet held during the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie tells a story of two strangers, played by Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, that get stranded on a mountain after a tragic plane crash. The two strangers are forced to work together through unimaginable obstacles for the sake of their survival. I had a chance to speak with Idris Elba about how his character found inner strength through tradegy.
Life Ball 2017
Darriel attended the Life Ball 2017 held in Vienna, Austria. The Life Ball in Vienna is the biggest charity event in Europe supporting people with HIV or AIDS. The event is organized by the nonprofit organization AIDS LIFE, which was founded in 1992 by Gery Keszler and Torgom Petrosian.

Bryan Adams & the Royal Ontario Museum launch Canadians The Royal Ontario Museum and award winning musician/photographer launched an exclusive exhibition, "Canadians" on May 6th at the ROM Ball to mark Canada's 150th anniversary. The installation showcased portraits of iconic Canadians all captured by world renowned rock musician Bryan Adams. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Wayne Gretzy and her Majesty the Queen were amongst the 28 portraits showcased.
Trailer Park Boys launch of Freedom 35 Lager

Following the success, of their Ol' Dirty Canadian Whiskey, the Trailer Park Boys have now launched their Freedom 35 Lager, with hundreds of loyal fans lining up outside the LCBO in anticipation last night. I was invited to attend their private party to celebrate the launch as a social media influencer. The night started off with an epic band performance with Bubbles played by (Mike Smith) and Ricky (Robb Wells). Fans gathered around to sneak a glimpse of these celebrity reality TV stars in action. Having interviewed them before at the Entertainment One TIFF party, I was pleasantly surprised when Ricky immediately mentioned that I looked very familiar when we met. In the VIP area, I had a chance to chat with Bubbles and Ricky, who as always, were very accommodating & gracious.
On the subject of Freedom 35 Lager: although, I'm more of a wine connoisseur, I must say that the lager was extremely smooth tasting and refreshing. The launch party turned out to be an epic night filled with laughter & surprises all done in true Canadian style!
